The Columbus Clingstones, the Double‑A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, are set to debut at Synovus Park in April 2025. They play at the renovated historic Golden Park, combining thrilling baseball action with a vibrant, family‑friendly fan experience. As a new cornerstone of the Columbus sports scene, the Clingstones foster community engagement and develop future Major League talent. The team is a proud member club of Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH), which was formed in 2021 to support and enhance Minor League Baseball through best practices, professional management, innovation, and investment.
Position Overview The Columbus Clingstones are seeking a highly motivated, well‑organized, results‑oriented sales professional who will build the ticketing strategy from the ground up and create a foundation to surpass short‑term and long‑term ticket revenue goals, attendance goals, and retention goals. The Director, Ticket Sales will report to and collaborate with the General Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in developing, implementing, and executing the short‑term and long‑term ticket sales strategies of the organization
Actively sell and maintain a healthy book of ticket sales business
Identify, recruit, hire, train, and lead a sales team to build a dynamic sales environment that exceeds the sales goals of the organization
Evaluate the daily activities of the sales team and provide regular feedback, training, coaching, and leadership during weekly reviews
Provide guidance on the sales process with every team member, including assistance with prospecting, qualifying potential clients, presenting solutions, and hosting consistent meetings on a regular basis
Regularly measure the effectiveness of the organization’s various sales campaigns and offerings and provide recommendations for further improvement
Cultivate strong relationships within the community that will encourage ticket sales and build a sales pipeline
Utilize feedback from clients to develop additional benefits, address concerns, improve communication, and better the ticket offerings moving forward
Represent the organization in the community at various events and work to identify new key community relationships and partnerships that will assist in growing the organization
Actively remain aware of trends and developments within the league and industry and provide ideas and insights to improve the ticket sales portfolio
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sport management, or a related field
4+ years of experience in ticket or other B2B and B2C sales
2+ years of sales leadership experience
Proven ability to build, develop, and retain a staff
Team‑above‑self mentality
High personal accountability
Strong time management and organizational skills
Desire to cultivate strong relationships within and outside of the organization
Ability to be creative, take calculated risks, and strive to better the standing of the organization
Ability to communicate articulately and confidently, both verbally and in writing, with individuals at every level
Ability to work effectively in a high‑pressure environment while prioritizing and leading multiple tasks/projects at the same time
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
