Executive Director – YMCA Camp Carter

Seeking a cause‑driven leader to oversee operations of YMCA Camp Carter, a year‑round camp located on 350+ acres in Fort‑Worth, Texas. Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Executive Director will provide leadership and oversight for all camp services, including day camp, resident camp, outdoor education, conferences, retreats, family camp, marketing, programs, and facilities. Responsibilities include daily operations, volunteer development, financial development, diversity and inclusion initiatives, community relations, collaborations with community agencies, and budget management. The executive will develop and monitor operating budgets, ensuring annual goals are met, and oversee an annual campaign goal of $70,000. Essential Functions

Provide visionary, inclusive leadership that embodies the camp’s mission. Oversee operations of all program types, ensuring compliance with YMCA and ACA standards. Develop and execute long‑term strategic plan for growth, sustainability, and community impact. Champion fundraising, cultivate donor relationships, and manage a multi‑million‑dollar budget. Build and lead a high‑performing staff team; recruit, mentor, and empower staff. Engage community partners to expand camp’s reach and relevance. Core Values & Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in recreation, education, business, or related field (required). 5+ years of senior leadership experience in camp, youth development, or nonprofit operations. Proven success in financial development, strategic planning, and board/volunteer engagement. Strong background in risk management and ACA accreditation standards. Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills. Passion for camp life and commitment to the YMCA mission. Required Certifications

CPR and First Aid certifications (required). Compensation & Benefits
