On-site Location This role is “On‑Site” at the location detailed in the job post. The position is hybrid: employees must be in the office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and must reside in IL, PA, NJ, DE, MD or Washington DC. No relocation is provided.

Primary Purpose The IT Sr. Systems Engineer II serves as a senior technical role within the IT department. The candidate will provide technical insights, design, implement, and optimize complex systems under the guidance of a Principal Engineer or Manager. Responsibilities include collaborating with IT architecture, defining strategy, and influencing stakeholders.
Primary Duties • Independently coordinate and lead discussions with business partners and vendors to gather information and perform feasibility analysis. • Write and disseminate system specifications, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans. • Deliver cost‑effective solutions, including hands‑on configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization. • Support future plans, resource requirements, migration strategies, and project schedules. • Coach and supervise less experienced engineers and interns. • Design, support, and maintain custom system integration and emerging technology recommendations. • Identify and manage risks and issues, providing supporting data to leadership. • Maintain compliance with preferred technologies, standards, and policies, and conduct peer code reviews.
Job Scope Design, implement, support, and document infrastructure systems. Lead technological innovation to drive new business opportunities and solve complex problems. Conduct higher‑complexity assignments with independent judgment.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Networking, or 7 + years of related experience. • Experience with system administration, design, and documentation procedures. • Proven ability to solve complex problems and deliver work aligned to project management principles. • Advanced monitoring, cloud, security, scripting (PowerShell, Ansible), and troubleshooting skills. • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer, or CS‑I Hardware Asset Management certification. • Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and relevant industry certifications (e.g., NERC‑CIP, FERC, AZ900). • Strong programming background and initiative beyond implementation.
