A thriving construction company in Sumner, Washington, is seeking a seasoned General Manager to lead its sales and operations teams. The GM will oversee commercial growth, operational excellence, and team development while partnering with the executive leadership team to drive strategic initiatives and ensure business objectives are met. This role calls for a highly capable, hands‑on leader with strong financial acumen, strategic vision, and a proven track record of growing teams and revenue.
Responsibilities
Oversee sales, estimating, and business development teams, driving revenue growth and improving processes
Lead efforts to open new operations locations, including site selection, property acquisition, and launch planning
Collaborate with executive leadership on company strategy, operations, finance, HR, and safety initiatives
Build trusted relationships with yard leaders, crews, office staff, and clients
Monitor project performance, job costing, P&L, and margins, and partner with field leaders to improve results
Implement tools and processes to enhance sales, estimating, and operational efficiency
Coach, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a strong culture and succession readiness
Support compliance with safety, workforce planning, and operational standards
Requirements
10 - 15+ years of leadership experience in construction, utilities, or heavy civil industries
Proven experience growing sales teams, managing operations, and overseeing budgets/P&L
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or related field
Strong financial, strategic, and operational skills
Proficiency with Word and Outlook
Must be fully onsite in Washington State, able to lead teams directly
