Pay Range
$29.74/hr (Base pay range). Actual pay will be based on skills and experience.
About The Job
Works primarily in the food service operation handling cash and credit transactions from MedStar/Sodexo customers. Assists in set up and serving of food from counters and steam tables. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work stations. Owns accurate operation of cash register/POS and completes transactions. Provides support to retail operations including set up, maintaining supplies, and assisting with cleanup and closedown.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies, procedures, quality, and safety standards.
- Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams, meetings, committees, and community outreach.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Operates a cash register, receives payments of cash, checks and charges, makes change and issues receipts.
- Accurately scans PLU/barcode for sale items.
- Maintains security of cash at all times.
- Assists in reconciling and verifying transaction accuracy; operates peripheral equipment supporting non-cash transactions.
- Prepares service before meals and cleans the dining area after meals (wiping tables, vacuuming floor, cleaning chairs).
- Sets up and stocks beverage area and grab-and-go items.
- Sets up stations with entrees, soups, salads, breads, condiments, and utensils.
- Serves and replenishes food from counters and steam tables, breaks down stations at end of meal periods.
- Cleans and sanitizes workstations, counters, steam tables, and equipment.
- Interacts with customers in serving and dining areas.
- Assists customers with opening containers and cutting food when requested.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Reports accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Participates in safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments.
- Maintains inventory stock, requisitions, and completes daily tasks from management.
Minimal Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience
- Prior work experience not required; related work experience preferred.
