AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next‑generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
The position’s responsibilities include scaling support of several data center locations and day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management. You will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.
As a Network Deploy Technician, you will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction. In addition to providing management and support of AWS’s vast network infrastructure, you will establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures.
Physical Requirements
Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed
Work in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
Key Responsibilities
Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
Troubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment
Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
Traveling within and outside of the regional work area is required. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license to travel within the regional work area, as company transportation will not be provided.
A Day in the Life
Providing the first‑level networking devices to serve our customer racks: you will track network rack intake and delivery, work with onsite teams to request rack space, power, and cooling, and partner with network engineers to ensure all configurations are ready. You’ll also work on link and device troubleshooting within a defined service‑level agreement.
Console builds (and room builds) that expand space and capacity for customer racks.
Working with ID‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices.
Basic Qualifications
2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
1+ year of computer networking experience
High school or equivalent diploma
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment
Data center experience and industry‑standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+)
Experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR and power meters

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,600 per year in the lowest market to $113,200 per year in the highest market. Pay is based on factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
