Compensation & Work Environment

Pay: $85,000-$100,000 annually (DOE)

Schedule: Full-time, in-office

About the Role My client, a real estate investment firm, is seeking a GL Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a strong staff accountant with 4+ years of experience who is ready to operate close to a senior level. The focus is primarily on general ledger management, month-end close, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet oversight, with some support for check runs and light AP functions. The position provides exposure to acquisitions, portfolio transactions, and other growing finance activities, making it an excellent opportunity to gain experience toward a senior accounting role in 1-2 years.

Responsibilities

Manage general ledger accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries

Perform bank reconciliations and support month-end and quarter-end close activities

Assist with check runs and vendor payments as needed

Support reporting and financial analysis related to acquisitions and portfolio transactions

Collaborate with AP, property accounting, and finance staff to ensure smooth operations

Assist in process improvements and maintain documentation of accounting procedures

Provide accurate and timely information to leadership to support decision-making

Qualifications

4+ years of general ledger/accounting experience, ideally in real estate or investment accounting

ERP system experience required (e.g., Yardi, MRI, SAP, or similar)

Solid understanding of accounting principles, month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliations

Self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities

Professional and mature demeanor; able to thrive in a collaborative team environment
