Ledgent is seeking an experienced
Senior Accountant
to support our client's accounting team for year-end. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong accounting and reconciliation experience. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records and preparing year-end close activities.
Base pay range $55.00/hr - $60.00/hr
Responsibilities
Analyze prior general ledger transactions to establish accurate starting balances before the ADP transition
Review and reconcile monthly billing statements from all benefit vendors against payments issued
Reconcile employee payments recorded in payroll with self-pay receipts to ensure accuracy
Align employer-accrued payroll amounts with vendor payments to maintain proper balances
Cross-check all payments and billed amounts against general ledger entries for consistency
Record write-offs and allocate them appropriately across vendor accounts
Validate COBRA, Retiree, and Subsidy payments against general ledger records
Prepare and post journal entries necessary to close out the 2025 fiscal year
Qualifications
Proven experience in accounting, payroll, and reconciliations
Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation
Experience with payroll systems (ADP preferred)
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Compensation
Hourly pay up to $60, commensurate with experience
