Pay:
$30.37 – $37.95 – $42.51 per hour.
What You Will Do Assist patients, their parents/guardians, staff and physicians to maintain high efficiency, quality care and excellent customer service for the pediatric patient population.
Required Qualifications
Successful completion of an LVN/LPN program.
California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
1 year of LVN experience in a related clinical area.
Experience as a pediatric LVN (highly preferred).
Ambulatory care experience.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (preferred).
Essential Functions
Customer Service: greet patients and guardians with a smile, use a warm professional tone, verify names, introduce yourself, wear an ID badge, provide physical assistance, keep patients comfortable and informed.
Department Efficiency: monitor patient flow, physician schedules, maintain supply levels, handle authorizations, answer phone calls, schedule appointments, participate in clinical projects.
Human Resources: provide staff training, precept new staff, collaborate as a team player, communicate effectively, respect diversity, give and receive feedback, attend meetings.
Nursing Competencies: maintain a 90 % or greater competency score in all areas.
Quality Initiatives: complete quality assurance assignments as directed.
Technical Skills: infection control, direct patient care, pediatric procedures (immunizations, circumcision, frenotomy, ear piercing, etc.), pediatric measurements, screenings (vision, hearing, bilirubin, autism), patient/guardian education, and utilization of CAIR and referral systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient Licensed Practical or Vocational Nursing skills and judgment.
Ability to prepare patients for examinations, tests or treatments and explain procedures clearly.
