Radiologic Technologist – UCSF-GoHealth Urgent Care

Our Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants in the examination and treatment of patients.
The RT performs a variety of technical procedures, applies prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, performs and analyzes patient x‑rays, reports results to providers, and provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of our urgent‑care centers.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants on patient care management, organization and communication.
Technique: Apply x‑ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups.
Position patients correctly on or in front of equipment and protect them during use.
Assist in patient preparation and rooming, including interviews, vital‑sign checks, and point‑of‑care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
Maintain medical records, scan charts to patient files, perform courtesy call‑backs for follow‑up.
Document daily control and calibration of equipment, maintain QA/QC logs, troubleshoot and submit repair tickets.
Collaborate with ordering and treating providers to determine appropriate procedures, support clinic operations, explain procedures to patients, and ensure their comfort and safety.
Accurately position patients and equipment, adjust radiographic controls, and capture clear diagnostic images.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of X‑ray equipment and manage supplies.
Adhere to radiation safety protocols, implement ALARA principles, and log exposure.

Qualifications
Name
High School Diploma required
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required
Work Experience
Experience in a clinical setting preferred
Licenses & Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
ARP (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registration required at hire
State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required (if applicable by state law)
Knowledge
Knowledge of X‑ray procedures and protocols
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology for X‑ray testing, including body mechanics
Knowledge of radiology equipment safety hazards and common issues
Skills
Position patients properly for X‑ray procedures
Identify equipment problems and fix or notify supervisor
Follow infection control and radiological safety procedures
Location & Salary San Francisco, CA Salary range: $69.31 – $86.63 per hour
