Field Service Engineer 1 – Seattle, WA (Downtown)

Role Summary The Field Service Engineer performs on‑time and accurate Preventative Maintenance on medical equipment, troubleshoots and performs basic repairs, supports more experienced Field Engineers with installations and complex repairs, and drives customer satisfaction.
This is a remote role; a company car is provided. Candidates must reside within 10 miles of downtown Seattle, WA.
Key Responsibilities
Perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance on medical equipment to ensure optimal delivery of healthcare services.
Troubleshoot and perform basic service repairs on customer equipment.
Assist more experienced field engineers with equipment installations and more complex repairs.
Proactively engage with team members to ensure appropriate solutions for the customer.
Maintain relationships with customers, ensuring timely communication, resolution and proper follow up to drive customer satisfaction.
Adhere to company policies, procedures and hospital protocols to meet regulatory and compliance requirements; document all work performed daily, including debriefing and ordering parts.
Partner with the customer and sales team to recommend value‑added services that help the customer run more efficiently.
Utilize the GEHC escalation process as needed, working closely with regional and national support to define and implement corrective action plans.
Qualifications
Associate degree in a related field or equivalent military education and 2 years of experience servicing electronic equipment.
Or high school diploma/GED and 4 years of relevant experience.
Or graduate of the GEHC Apprentice Program.
Valid driver’s license.
Experience with web applications and Microsoft suite of products.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship is offered.
Availability after hours and/or on a rotating on‑call schedule, including weekends.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical capabilities in X‑ray.
Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 35 lbs unassisted, and to perform various movements (bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, stand) for extended periods; reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity.
Other Requirements
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Experience with web applications and Microsoft suite of products.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship.
Availability after hours and/or rotating on‑call schedule.
Benefits and Compensation Annual salary range: $66,704.00 – $100,056.00 (U.S. based positions only). Salary is dependent on skills, qualifications and location. The position may also earn performance‑based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and long‑term incentives.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contributions, life, disability, accident insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
