Role Summary/Purpose
The Field Service Engineer performs on‑time and accurate preventive maintenance in one or more modalities of equipment. The Engineer follows all Field Modification Instructions and/or Instrument Service Information bulletins, troubleshoots and performs basic repairs on assigned equipment, supports more experienced Field Engineers both onsite and remotely, and aids in installations while learning to repair more complex systems. The role drives customer satisfaction through service excellence. X‑ray experience is preferred, but experience with other imaging modalities is also considered. This is a remote role; a company car is provided. Candidates must reside within 10 miles of downtown Seattle, WA.
Key Roles and Experiences
Perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance on medical equipment in hospitals or healthcare systems to ensure optimal delivery of services.
Perform troubleshooting and basic service repairs on customer equipment.
Assist more experienced field engineers with installations and more complex repairs.
Proactively engage with team members to provide appropriate solutions for customers.
Maintain relationships with customers, ensuring timely communication, resolution, and proper follow‑up to drive customer satisfaction.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and hospital protocols to meet regulatory and compliance requirements; document all work performed daily, including debriefing and parts ordering.
Partner with customers and/or sales teams to recommend value‑added services that improve operational efficiency.
Utilize the GEHC escalation process as needed, working closely with regional and national support to define and implement corrective action plans.
Qualifications / Technical Requirements
Associate degree in a related field or equivalent military education and at least 2 years of experience servicing electronic equipment.
High school diploma or GED and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
Graduate of the GEHC Apprentice Program.
Valid driver’s license.
Experience with web applications and Microsoft Office suite.
U.S. legal authorization to work; no visa sponsorship will be provided.
Availability after hours and/or on a rotating on‑call schedule, including weekends.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical capabilities in X‑ray.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs unassisted; can frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods; reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex and extend neck, and have good hand and finger dexterity.
