Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator - 2nd Shift The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator provides day‑to‑day support to the EHS Manager and EHS Specialist in carrying out the company’s ISO 45001 (Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) management systems. This role is boots‑on‑the‑ground: inspections, documentation, JSAs, PPE reviews, waste checks, and assisting with incident investigations. The Coordinator helps keep the management system running, ensures documentation is complete and audit‑ready, and supports the team in maintaining a safe and compliant operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the EHS Manager and EHS Specialist with Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), PPE assessments, and hazard identification aligned with ISO 45001 Clause 6

Perform and document routine facility safety and environmental inspections to meet ISO monitoring and measurement requirements

Maintain and inspect safety equipment (eyewash, fire extinguishers, spill kits, ladders, chemical storage areas) with accurate documentation control

Conduct hazardous waste accumulation area inspections and coordinate waste pickups in alignment with ISO 14001 and regulatory requirements

Assist in building and tracking EHS objectives, targets, KPIs, and corrective actions

Help the EHS Specialist with incident investigations, documentation, and follow‑up corrective actions

Support training activities, toolbox talks, and employee engagement initiatives

Maintain electronic and physical EHS records to ISO 45001/14001 document control standards

Assist with internal audit preparation, external audit readiness, and management review data

Other EHS duties as assigned

Occasional travel ( Qualifications:

Direct, clear communication skills

Solid attention to detail especially in documentation

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Ability to work within structured ISO processes and follow procedures

Education / Experience:

Bachelor's Degree complete in Occupational Safety and Health or Emergency Management

0‑2 years in a manufacturing work environment is preferred

Exposure to EHS programs, OSHA compliance, or environmental requirements is a plus

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

OSHA 30 (General Industry) required

First Aid / CPR / AED certification required

Additional safety/environmental certifications (HAZWOPER, ISO Internal Auditor, etc.) are a plus but not required

Language Skills:

Ability to read, understand, and apply written procedures, regulatory requirements, and instructions in English.

Mathematical Skills:

Basic algebra and measurement calculations used in inspections, tracking, and environmental reporting.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours)

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

Must meet OSHA-powered industrial truck (PIT) medical requirements

Must be able to pass a Respirator Medical Evaluation and annual respirator fit test per OSHA 1910.134

Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing ladders/stairs, reaching, and operating inspection tools or equipment

Must be physically capable of responding to emergencies, accessing elevated areas, and navigating typical manufacturing conditions (noise, dust, uneven surfaces)

Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment with intermittent noise, dust, debris, chemical vapors, and varying lighting conditions. Occasional outdoor exposure depending on task. PPE required based on job activity and area. Daily interaction with ISO management system elements: inspections, monitoring, operational controls, documentation, corrective actions, and continual improvement.

Hourly Rate:

$26.00 - $30.00
