Payroll Accountant- Well established, growing educational company in Chicagoland area

Overview of the role: Performing weekly accumulation and review of employee timesheets for payroll Working with supervisors to ensure accuracy of timesheets and compliance with company policies Partnering with external vendors to complete payroll processing bi-weekly and respond to payroll inquiries and requests by employees and other internal and external users of payroll data Researching and troubleshooting payroll discrepancies, and resolving any payroll-related issues. Serves as a liaison between Finance and Human Resources regarding payroll, paid time off, and various other policies and procedures. Prepares and maintains account reconciliations as part of the monthly closing process. Ensures that federal and state payroll reports (monthly, quarterly and annually) are filed in a timely manner and accurately.
Preferred Qualifications: Payroll processing and reporting experience NEED to have a blend of end-to-end payroll and HR responsibilities HRIS/Payroll systems knowledge Sales commissions calculation experience is a plus Strong and capable use of computer applications
