Cost Accountant II

Your Impact as Cost Accountant
As a key contributor to the accounting team, you will: Assist in developing standard costs for materials, freight, labor, and overhead
Perform monthly variance analysis and review with department leaders
Maintain and audit product pricing, BOM accuracy, and cost standards in the system
Conduct monthly freight reconciliation and ensure accurate accruals
Support compliance with government tax regulations
Prepare journal entries for month-end close and validate COGS accuracy
Produce monthly financial reports and maintain permanent accounting documentation
Partner with Sales to support pricing updates and customer negotiations
Assist in inventory processes, including physical counts, cost rolls, and year-end reporting
Contribute to annual budgeting and monthly/quarterly forecasting
Assist with AP (3-way match), intercompany reconciliations, and AR follow-up as needed
Prepare accurate account reconciliations in accordance with internal policies and SOX requirements
What You Bring to the Team
Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in an
industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory processes, and product costing
Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, data analysis)
Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth setting
Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills
Preferred: CPA certification
Experience with SAP, MAPICS/Infor XA, OneStream, or other advanced ERP systems
