Base Salary: $135,000 - $185,000 + Bonus
Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Litigation and Insurance Coverage Associate to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation and insurance defense, with the ability to navigate complex legal issues and represent clients effectively in various legal proceedings. This role will involve managing cases, conducting legal research, and drafting legal documents to support our clients' interests.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a diverse caseload related to litigation and insurance coverage matters.
Conduct thorough discovery and legal research to support case strategies.
Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Develop and implement effective litigation strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration, and mediation.
Engage in settlement negotiations to resolve disputes favorably for clients.
Maintain detailed case management records and ensure compliance with civil procedures.
Provide legal advice on insurance defense matters and contract law issues.
Assist in trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit organization.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Admitted to practice law in WA State.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation and insurance coverage.
Strong legal writing and research skills.
Proven experience in client representation and courtroom experience.
Familiarity with civil procedures, arbitration, and mediation processes.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of legal compliance issues and best practices in insurance defense.
Base salary range: $135,000-$185,000 (depending on years of experience)
Hours-based bonus: $10,000 for 1,600 hours; $20,000 for 1,700 hours; $35,000 for 1,800 hours
Discretionary year-end bonus
