High-end Residential Construction Superintendent – Service & Maintenance

We are currently seeking a seasoned Superintendent to join our team of professional, well-rounded, and creative individuals servicing, maintaining, and managing small projects and renovations of high-end, well-crafted homes. As an integral member of our Service and Maintenance team, working with Project Managers, you will oversee small projects and renovations planning, organizing, and managing staff, subcontractors, and schedules. In this highly collaborative role, you will also partner closely with the Project Manager to review work in progress and collaborate to ensure the project stays on schedule and on budget, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction. Our ideal candidate will have a strong interest in craftsmanship and building science.
Role Responsibilities
Leading and managing subcontractors, communicating job expectations, planning, and monitoring performance, while adhering to policies and procedures
Contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
In partnership with Project Manager, defining project scope; scheduling, coordinating staff and sub-contractors; resolving issues/problems as they arise; evaluating and implementing change orders
Qualifications and Skills
A minimum of 7-10 years of experience, preferably in high-end construction
Experience in supervising construction projects and staff
Well-versed in quality management, budget, and profitability management
Solid mechanical and logical thinking, ideally with background strength in engineering and/or construction management, with a natural ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively and professionally with owners, public officials, field workers, and subcontractors
Proficiency in communicating via email, and utilizing Google’s G Suite, Bluebeam or similar takeoff software, scheduling software, and online construction document management software such as PlanGrid
Physical Requirements
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Physical ability to work indoors and outdoors; sit, stand, reach, twist, turn, kneel, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, lift, carry, and push tools, equipment, and supplies weighing 25 pounds or more
