Senior Accountant / Controller
We are seeking a detail‑driven, analytical, and proactive senior accountant/controller to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, and contributes to process improvements. The senior accountant/controller will play a key role in month‑end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.
Location: hybrid – mostly remote, with 1‑2 days per week in Needham, MA headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
Lead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
General Ledger & Accounting Operations
Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts
Assist with revenue recognition and expense allocations
Review and reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and balance sheet accounts
Audit & Compliance
Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and explanations
Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies
Assist in developing and updating accounting procedures Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance accounting systems
Participate in or lead special projects as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP
Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics) and ADP (Workforce Now)
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling, etc.)
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time‑management skills
Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 annual salary, plus incentive plan. Additional compensation: Annual Bonus.
