Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a DC RN license and 2 years of acute care OR experience.
Responsibilities
Work in the Operating Room of a hospital setting
Assignment is 13 weeks in length
Ten-hour shifts from 7:00am to 5:30pm
On-call duties required during nights, weekends, and holidays
No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
Responsible for scrubbing and circulating duties for operative procedures
Prepares the operating room including assembling and checking equipment and supplies
Consults and coordinates with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative care plans
Serves as a communication liaison with patients, families, and the operating team
Adheres to aseptic technique and defined standards for hospital operating rooms
COVID and flu vaccination documentation required
Requirements
Active RN license in the District of Columbia required
Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association required
Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
BSN is highly desired
A minimum of 2 years of acute care Operating Room experience in a US hospital is required
Ability to complete both scrubbing and circulating roles in the OR
Mandated CPI certification required
Two references from managers or supervisors preferred
