Please note: Based on current market conditions, the minimum starting rate for this position is typically $20.58 per hour.

Summary Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

Essential Functions

Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame.

Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.

Interacts with patients and their families effectively.

Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.

Assists with turning and repositioning themselves in bed and moving between the bed and a wheelchair when necessary.

Listens to any health concerns patients may have and reports those concerns to the nurses.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Licenses and Credentials:

Basic Life Support (BLS Certification), Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification), Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (Massachusetts), Nursing Assistant (LNA – New Hampshire).

Experience:

Experience working in patient care/elder care (1–2 years preferred).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; knowledge of medical terminology; strong patient/customer service skills; ability to lift up to 35 pounds; proficient computer skills for electronic medical records.
