CV Resources is partnering with a family owned commercial real estate firm in search for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Property Accountant to own full-cycle accounting for their real estate portfolio and retail business. This role will partner closely with Property Management, Development, Leasing and the finance team to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Generate monthly rent invoices and manage collections and late fees
Track tenant sales and calculate percentage rents
Maintain rent rolls and tenant ledgers, ensuring rent and CAM charges are properly recorded and collected
Perform accounting tasks related to tenant move‑in and move‑outs
Assist property managers with accounting related queries and support tenant communications
Accounting & Finances
Manage day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of commercial and residential properties
Enter and code AP invoices, coordinating with property managers for approval
Reconcile AR ledger and ensure all deposits are accurately recorded
Reconcile credit cards, bank statements and general ledger accounts
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, forecast and year‑end prep
Track CAPEX and project related spending
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls and external filings
Support ad‑hoc projects and financial analysis as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
5+ years of accounting experience (commercial real estate preferred)
Experience with budgeting and CAM reconciliations
Proficiency in property management software (e.g., AppFolio or Yardi)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
