The Direct Patient Care Registered Nurse (DPC RN) is a licensed professional tasked with delivering patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent manner. This role requires mastery of core competencies including assessment, technical skills, communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, planning, intervention, evaluation, flexibility, organizational skills, professional accountability, leadership, and service, while promoting evidence‑based practice standards of quality, safety, and service. Qualifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Registered Nurse (RN) license Additional Qualifications
RNs hired prior to 2/1/2012 (South) are not required to have a BSN to continue in their non‑leadership role as an RN. RNs hired after 2/1/2012 (South) with an Associate’s degree will have 5 years from their date of hire to complete the BSN degree. RN must complete a preceptor class within twelve months of being deemed competent by department leadership for independent practice. Minimum Required Experience: 7 months of Med/Surg RN experience.
