Position Overview The
Senior Associate
will be a critical member of the investment team, contributing to all phases of the private equity investment process—from sourcing and evaluating opportunities to executing transactions and driving post‑close value creation initiatives. This position offers significant responsibility and visibility with senior partners, portfolio company executives, and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and driven finance professional with proven experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting. This individual will bring strong technical skills in financial modeling and valuation, balanced with the ability to think strategically, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Deal Sourcing & Evaluation
Proactively identify and evaluate new investment opportunities through industry research, networking, and deal flow channels.
Analyze business models, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics to assess attractiveness and potential fit with the firm’s investment thesis.
Due Diligence Leadership
Drive financial, operational, and commercial due diligence processes for potential investments.
Build detailed financial models, conduct scenario analyses, and evaluate key risks and value drivers.
Coordinate with external advisors (legal, tax, accounting, and commercial consultants) to validate findings.
Transaction Execution
Support partners in structuring, negotiating, and closing transactions.
Prepare investment memoranda and presentation materials for internal investment committee review.
Assist in developing term sheets, deal documents, and capital structures.
Portfolio Company Engagement
Partner with management teams to track KPIs, monitor performance, and identify operational improvements.
Contribute to the design and execution of strategic initiatives such as M&A add‑ons, market expansions, and cost‑optimization projects.
Prepare board materials and investor updates that summarize financial and operational performance.
Financial Analysis & Strategic Insight
Create and maintain complex financial models to support decision‑making and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
Provide clear insights and recommendations that link operational data to enterprise value creation.
Industry & Market Research
Conduct deep‑dip research on target sectors, identifying investment themes, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities.
Stay abreast of macroeconomic, industry, and regulatory trends impacting portfolio companies and future investments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA or CFA designation strongly preferred.
4–6+ years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting.
Advanced skills in financial modeling, valuation, and data‑driven decision‑making.
Demonstrated experience conducting rigorous due diligence and evaluating complex investment opportunities.
Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey insights to senior stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Highly detail‑oriented, with strong organizational and execution skills.
Must be local to Dallas and able to work in the firm’s Uptown Dallas office 3 days per week.
