Primary Duties And Responsibilities
The Epic Hospital Billing Application Analyst III is responsible for configuring, testing, implementing and supporting the clinical, financial, or administrative Epic modules within their area of support.
Oversees practices and processes to ensure integrity, safety and availability of all data and applications as part of the organization’s systems; responsible for planning and system development, project management, and application administration; collaborates with key stakeholders, end users and other business teams to optimize system configuration, function and access; facilitates team discussions and completion of tasks requiring multiple resources; maintains knowledge of organization’s policies, procedures, and business operations.
Evaluates problem tickets and service requests, customer requests for system changes, data retrieval requests, system performance problems and optimization opportunities, and participates in their timely resolution; independently resolves complex, multi-function application errors and other system issues; maintains various system dictionaries, profiles, tables and other configuration points; identifies system enhancement requests and implements as applicable; independently manages the full lifecycle of medium to large optimizations; coordinates with vendors as appropriate.
Tests the system—including configurations, customizations and new releases—prior to production implementation; works with end users to design and test system reports and communicates changes; leads or facilitates system design, validation or remediation sessions; demonstrates advanced understanding of how assigned applications impact other systems and collaborates with integration teams to resolve complex data integration issues.
Leads large projects and functions as a subject matter expert on complex, cross-functional projects; provides guidance to level I and II analysts.
Performs all above functions with minimal oversight and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education and Experience Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience with Epic Hospital Billing build application module.
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
Expert EPIC Hospital Billing Module knowledge in at least one functional area.
Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience in a related field.
Five (5) or more years’ experience with application, module or equivalent system as assigned, including experience working in a health care environment department, preferably in an integrated health system environment.
Payroll Department only: Experience with Kronos Software applications required.
License Required
Current CA driver’s license for local travel.
Certifications Required
IT Department
All relevant application certifications and/or badges within area of support.
Epic Hospital Billing Certification.
Certifications Preferred
IT Department
Other certification with the application(s) within their area of responsibility and support.
