Senior Scientist – DMPK
12‑month contract with potential to convert to permanent based on performance.
Rate: $130‑142.09 per hour.
Location: Lexington, MA. Candidate must be willing to relocate at own expense.
Job Description
Act as DMPK project representative, providing scientific leadership in small molecule drug discovery across multiple therapeutic areas.
Integrate DMPK strategy and lead internal and external research efforts to support project goals.
Collaborate with pharmacology and medicinal chemistry teams to design DMPK studies that optimize molecules using in vitro, in vivo, and in silico methods.
Manage CRO relationships with specialized ADME capabilities and build and maintain relationships with global Novo Nordisk ADME experts.
Serve as subject‑matter expert and represent the organization at scientific conferences and global meetings.
Provide expert guidance to experimental plans and data interpretation in ADME/PK/DDI or PK/PD modeling and simulation.
Troubleshoot complex scientific tasks independently and within a team.
Analyze complex data, synthesize disparate datasets, and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
Make independent day‑to‑day experimental decisions and lead cross‑functional teams.
Report to the head of the DMPK department; collaborate with technical staff, scientific leaders, project managers, and other R&D colleagues.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 18+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 12+ years; or Doctoral degree with 6+ years of post‑doctoral and/or industry experience.
Excellent understanding of ADME principles; knowledge of PK/PD modeling or biotransformation highly desirable.
Prior experience working in fully or hybrid ADME‑outsourced models.
