Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients, supporting both routine healthcare needs and critical health decisions.
- This role is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures.
- The PSR II has direct patient contact and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and performing blood draws in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.
- The role demonstrates leadership behaviors with a strong focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- Assignments may include work in a doctor s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials and signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper labeling.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed
- Commitment to company policies, dress code, health and safety standards, and guiding principles.
- Ability to make decisions using established procedures and sound judgment
- Reliable transportation, valid driver s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Strong customer focus with effective communication skills and adaptability to change.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum of two years experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Phlebotomy and specimen collection.
- Patient interaction and customer service.
- Documentation and record maintenance.
- Keyboard and data entry skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
