Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II provides high-quality patient care by performing accurate specimen collection and maintaining a professional and safe environment.
- This role requires direct interaction with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust while explaining procedures and ensuring skilled, safe, and accurate blood collection.
- The individual will focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information and may work in a doctor s office, patient service center, or other assigned locations.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Commitment to organizational policies and procedures.
- Ability to make decisions using established procedures and good judgment.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver s license when applicable.
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours at multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Strong customer focus with effective communication skills and adaptability.
- 1 to 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- 2 years in a patient service center environment (preferred).
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (highly preferred).
- Keyboard and data entry experience.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under supervisor direction.
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and ensure correct labeling post-collection.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, and staff.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Professionalism and adaptability to changing needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality.
- Phlebotomy proficiency.
- Customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).
- Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in select states).
