Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II represents the face of the company to patients who arrive for routine health needs or important diagnostic decisions.
- The PSR II draws high-quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing while following established procedures.
- This role involves direct patient interaction, creating an atmosphere of trust by explaining procedures clearly and performing blood collection safely and accurately.
- The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in handling patient information.
- Assignments may include a doctor s office, a patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
- Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR II performs daily activities accurately and on time, maintains a professional and safe environment, and completes both forensic and clinical specimen collection with confidence.
- Additional responsibilities include verifying patient demographic information, ensuring proper labeling, maintaining records, and promoting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
- Commitment to company policies and procedures, including dress code and health and safety guidelines.
- Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver s license, if applicable.
- Ability to travel, work flexible hours, and cover multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Strong customer focus and ability to communicate openly with peers, supervisors, and patients.
- Ability to adapt to change and demonstrate knowledge of business operations.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum two years of experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry experience.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
