Overview
King County Metro Transit's Bus Operations Division seeks a Senior Business Analyst to lead Business Intelligence and Statistical Analysis, champion equity and inclusion, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities
Lead BI and statistical analysis work, owning all related business processes and documentation, and managing intake, backlog, and task assignments. Develop and implement a visual management system for the Division, gathering requirements, creating dashboards or tier boards, teaching daily board utilization, coaching leaders on Leader Standard Work, and conducting internal audits. Gather current state, requirements, and document complex data using stakeholder interviews, workshops, data extraction, and analysis. Analyze data to deliver insights and data‑driven recommendations, ensuring equity principles are integrated into data collection methods. Lead meetings by preparing agendas, coaching presenters, and managing action items, fostering an inclusive environment. Lead change management initiatives by developing and executing adoption strategies, communicating with stakeholders, providing training, and monitoring progress. Coach and lead a collaborative and supportive team environment. Maintain high organization and manage projects with detailed plans, timelines, and risk mitigation. Engage customers and stakeholders to understand needs, address concerns, and deliver effective solutions. Create comprehensive documentation, including requirements specifications, use cases, data/process flow diagrams, business process models, and user stories. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Business, Computer Science, or related field. Three years of experience with statistical data analysis, reporting, or visualization. Ability to build teams, lead others, coach, mentor, and train adult learners. Knowledge and understanding of Equity and Social Justice principles. Advanced knowledge of designing, developing, and maintaining complex business and data management systems. Experience extracting, analyzing, and solving complex analytical problems and making recommendations. Basic statistics and data analysis methods knowledge. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including clear reports and diverse audience presentations. Project management techniques, methodologies, and tools experience. Facilitating small and large group meetings, workshops, and discussion groups experience. Working with diverse individuals and organizational roles, breaking down barriers to communication and building collaborative relationships. Strong customer service skills and knowledge. Desirable Qualifications Lean and Six Sigma process improvement methods knowledge. Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or SQL. Group dynamics and change management methods knowledge. King County administrative systems, policies, and procedures knowledge. Experience working in a transit organization.
