Description
Responsible for the care activities and goal achievements of assigned patients by assessing, diagnosing, planning and intervening in actual or potential health problems and evaluating patient response to care. Responsible for health teaching and discharge planning.
Acts as a member of a designated care team and collaborates, coordinates and guides team members in planning patient care activities. Demonstrates behaviors that reflect scientific knowledge, judgment and teaching skills of a professional nurse.
Responsibilities
Nursing assessment based on interview, examination, observation and review of patient records.
Develop a goal‑oriented care plan based on the nursing assessment, with participation of patient and significant others.
Nursing actions are consistent with the care plan, medical regimen and hospital procedures.
Demonstrates a competent level of technical skill reflective of professional nursing knowledge and judgment.
Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of standards of care and professional practice in collaboration with members of the health care team and in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory agency requirements.
Coordinate patient care activities based on established priorities, including teaching, rounding, counseling and discharge planning, and direct/delegate appropriately to health care team members.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing preferred.
Registered Nurse License and current registration in New York State required.
Minimum 1 year RN telemetry Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting. BCLS/ACLS certification required. EKG skills required.
Documented previous experience or educational preparation to support credentials. Relevant clinical competence in area of nursing practice. Special skills/experience may be required in specialized areas.
Special skills/experience may be required in specialized areas: remote telemetry, administration of IV antiarrhythmic drugs, EKG interpretation, IV therapy, remote telemetry, chemo, IV/Phlebotomy.

Compensation The salary range for the role is $55,352 - $61,829.7 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including, education, and operational need. The range does not include bonuses, differential pay, or other compensation.
