Salary Details: Minimum for Assistant Teaching Professor – $82,110; Associate – $84,950; Teaching Professor – $95,764. Final salary will commensurate based on the candidate's qualification and the rank offered.

Responsibilities Rutgers University‑New Brunswick (RU‑NB) invites applications for a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track engineering faculty position in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME). The expected start date is Fall 2026. The position is a calendar‑year appointment and can include teaching responsibilities during the summer. Appointment at any rank commensurate with qualifications – Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor – is possible along either the Teaching or Professional Practice track. This is a career‑oriented position in which candidates will be evaluated for reappointment and promotion as appropriate.

Primary duties include providing instruction in lecture‑ and laboratory‑based classes and advancing the industry‑readiness of our students through the development of experiential learning opportunities and focused educational opportunities. Other duties may include coordinating and maintaining course‑related laboratory equipment, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, assisting with student recruitment, interacting with local industry, assisting with development of an industry‑focused master’s program, and other duties assigned by the Chairperson.

Candidates should demonstrate potential for and commitment to teaching and leading instruction in a variety of undergraduate courses in support of the Rutgers BME curriculum, which includes courses in biomechanics, biomaterials, transport, kinetics & thermodynamics, numerical modeling, and physiology, and laboratory courses in systems & devices and biomedical measurements.

Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related discipline, along with several years of experience in classroom and laboratory instruction. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students, are essential. Industrial experience in the healthcare technology sector is highly desirable.
