Posting Summary Rutgers University-New Brunswick's School of Engineering invites applications for multiple faculty positions across all ranks and areas of expertise. The School of Engineering includes seven academic departments and 10 engineering majors, offering exceptional opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. We seek outstanding scholars whose work advances one or more of our strategic priority areas: Physical and Virtual Infrastructure, Healthcare Technology, Innovations in Energy, Defense and National Security, Experiential Learning and Professional Education. Appointments may be made in one or more engineering departments based on the candidate's expertise and interests. While most positions are expected to be at the assistant professor level (tenure-track and teaching), consideration will also be given to more senior‑level appointments, and all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at Rutgers is a leading engineering program with state‑of‑the‑art laboratories and close relations with local industry. The department has more than 40 full‑time faculty with more than 1,100 undergraduate students in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Packaging Engineering and more than 200 graduate students. The department is home to the New Jersey Advanced Manufacturing Initiative that engages with industry on AI, advanced manufacturing, and workforce development. Other centers of research excellence include the Center for Advanced Energy Systems and the Emil Buehler Aerospace Lab. More information is available at mae.rutgers.edu and soe.rutgers.edu. Aerospace Engineering. All areas with a preference toward propulsion, materials, structures, materials, and/or space systems. Candidates with relevant expertise in aerospace sciences, aircraft and spacecraft structures, complex systems modeling, and applications are especially encouraged to apply. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field, completed by the time of appointment and demonstrated excellence in research, potential for or record of external funding, and a strong commitment to teaching and student success.
