After School Program Director
Healthy Kids Programs is looking for a dynamic Director to lead our After School Program for the 2025-2026 school year. As the Director, you will be the driving force behind every aspect of the operation of the Healthy Kids Program Site.

Pay:
$17.00 per hour
Hours:
2:15 pm - 6:00 pm
Job Responsibilities
Guiding Compliance: Ensure staff and the program adhere to OCFS guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and the rules set by our host school.
Bringing the Fun: Direct engaging hands‑on activities based on the Healthy Kids Curriculum, covering fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. Also oversee homework completion.
Managing Like a Boss: Maintain accurate attendance and registration records, and ensure proper staffing levels to keep the program running smoothly.
Keeping Everyone in the Loop: Maintain open communication with parents and family members through the Playground App.
Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with your direct report, keeping them updated on daily occurrences and addressing any issues promptly. Work together to provide the highest quality of care, foster a positive environment, and proactively tackle challenges.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be qualified as a director, you must possess one of the following:
An Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field; plus two years of direct experience working with children under 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
A New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential; plus two years of direct experience with children under 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
A School‑Age Child Care Credential or another office‑recognized credential specific to the school‑age developmental period; plus two years of direct experience with children under 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field; plus two years of direct experience with children under 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
You are medically fit to perform all job duties and free of communicable diseases, including TB.
You’re warm, friendly, upbeat, and possess exceptional people skills with kids, parents, and team members. You are professional, reliable, and prompt.
You can bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs., and keep up with energetic children.
