The Staff Services Manager I (SSMI) of the Eligibility Unit 3 is responsible for overall administration, development and implementation of the unit’s activities, including fiscal oversight and program operations. The SSMI works with staff to develop and implement standards for operation, evaluates program effectiveness and provides technical assistance. The SSMI interacts with various levels of government, community-based HIV care and treatment providers, and other public and private stakeholders. The SSMI provides expert policy, programmatic and fiscal recommendations to the AIDS Drug and Assistance Program (ADAP) Section Chief and is responsible for handling the most complex and/or sensitive assignments within the unit.
Responsibilities:
Oversee overall administration, fiscal oversight and program operations.
Develop and implement standards for operation and evaluate program effectiveness.
Provide technical assistance and expert policy, programmatic and fiscal recommendations.
Interact with government, community-based and private stakeholders to support program activities.
Handle complex and sensitive assignments within the unit.

Eligibility Information
If you are new to California State Service, you must take and pass the examination for this classification to be eligible for hire. Current state employees without transfer or list eligibility must also complete and pass the examination for this classification to qualify for this position.
Telework Information
This position may be eligible for telework up to three (3) days per week and is required to report in-person to the designated headquarters office location a minimum of two (2) days per week. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment.
