Job Summary The General Counsel will support general business operations by acting as a liaison between the company and its various entities, including outside counsel and clients. This position will review, revise, and track a wide variety of agreements for the company and provide legal guidance as necessary.

Essential Functions

Consult and handle all corporate legal processes (e.g., intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, compliance issues, transactions, agreements, lawsuits) with assistance from outside counsel as appropriate.

Research, anticipate, and guard the company against legal risks.

Assist in the negotiation and writing of contracts for business operations, ongoing interactions, insurance matters, and other agreements and correspondence on legal matters as required.

Track and monitor the status of agreements and contracts.

Advise managers within the company and work alongside employees in Strategic Business Units, Marketing, Brand Communication, Sales, Corporate Alliances.

Manage various projects and deadlines.

Advise executives on contract status, legal risks, and business terms of various opportunities and ongoing operations.

Provide general legal counsel and offer advice on a variety of legal issues.

Translate and explain legal language.

Liaise with insurance providers to review insurance issues requiring legal expertise.

Ensure legal objectives are met.

Research unique legal issues impacting the organization by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes.

Keep updated on legislative and regulatory changes that may affect the company and its affiliates.

Minimize risks and maximize legal rights.

Review advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with legal requirements.

With outside counsel, develop solutions to complex legal questions.

Act as a legal consultant and liaison in any legal matters, mediations, arbitrations, and hearings.

Interface with, coordinate, and/or assist outside legal counsel on specific matters.

Draft letters and correspondences on behalf of the company.

Other duties as assigned.

Necessary Skills and Abilities

Corporate law experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Able to collaborate effectively with outside legal counsel.

Proficient in legal research.

Able to work with others in various geographies and different time zones.

Analytical and logical thinking.

Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Limited travel required.

Educational Requirements

A completed Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and membership in good standing of at least one state’s bar association.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 10 years’ in‑house experience with previous private law firm experience strongly preferred.
