Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Network Architect/SME in Service Provider Backbone, LAN/WAN and DW/DM for our NIH-CIT proposal. This position is located in Bethesda, MD and is a remote/hybrid position.
Responsibilities SME Role Responsibilities
Coordinate with the Section Manager to evaluate, design, and test architecture designs and services from the roadmap backlog
Lead the transition of user accepted designs and services to the Operations and Security Teams
Provide subject matter expertise in Service Provider backbone.
Provide subject matter expertise in Enterprise-level LAN/WAN.
Provide subject matter expertise in Enterprise-level Quality of Service (QoS).
Provide subject matter expertise in Enterprise-level Traffic Engineering.
Network Architecture Role Responsibilities
Strategically plan, architect, design, engineer, develop, test, implement, modernize, and enhance the functional capabilities, capacity, and performance of the NIH Network and TIC Services in alignment with NIH future state architecture objectives
Implement software and hardware installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance
Collaborate with the Security Section to achieve security architecture requirements
Maintain technical architecture documentation
Troubleshoot and resolve problems
Manage change control processes
Support resources responsible for security implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation
Lead strategic & transformative planning for network architecture services
Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience (or commensurate experience).
CCIE Certification: Written and practical.
Specializations (order of importance): Routing and Switching, Service Provider, Data Center, and Wireless.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
