Senior Manager – Engine Overhaul and Repair
United Airlines invites a senior leader to manage all technical operations for Engine Overhaul and Repair across the F117, PW4‑94, PW4‑112, and V2500 engine families. The role reports to the Director of Engine Repair and Overhaul and focuses on safety, performance, regulatory compliance, cost control, productivity, and team building. Lead departmental strategy and business plan through direct leadership of base personnel. Ensure budgetary compliance and cost control within the product line. Provide leadership and direction to the Engine Shop organization, including labor workforce, to maximize productivity and output in accordance with collective bargaining agreements. Build a fair and respectful work environment through consistent application of CBA work rules and company policies. Execute shop performance goals and objectives aligned with divisional and company goals. Maintain a high level of awareness of operational, financial, compliance, safety, and human resource related performance objectives. Ensure safety and security of aircraft, components, engines, and operations. Interface with regulatory authorities and ensure regulatory compliance of local technical operations activities. Participate in developing and executing tactical plans to implement Engine Shop strategy. Maintain high level communication with all levels and employee groups within the Engine Shop. Report status of operations, highlight significant events, and provide direction to assigned product line to ensure divisional objectives are achieved. Meet or exceed operational performance goals, including minimum spare levels, cycle time, and productivity and safety objectives. Meet or exceed business plan objectives. Identify key issues needing to be addressed and assign projects where applicable. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. Comparable experience required. 7+ years of experience managing work as a leader in the aircraft maintenance industry. 8 years in the aircraft maintenance industry required. Extensive knowledge of engine and aircraft maintenance operations or repair, continuous improvement (Lean), and applicable FAA regulations and requirements. Prior MRO experience. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship. Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification. Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree. Finance, Business, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. FAA A&P Certificate. Six Sigma/Lean certified (Green Belt/Black Belt). 2 years in a leadership role within a large maintenance organization, including a unionized labor workforce, is preferred with a proven successful track record. Strong background and technical knowledge of engine types and maintenance programs is preferred. Data analytics experience. Develop and manage KPI’s. Base Pay Range
$140,600.00 – $183,108.00. Benefits
