Responsibilities The QA Engineering Lead is responsible for designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks, tools, and quality engineering practices for an enterprise-wide data and automation platform. This role is deeply hands on building automated test suites, integrating quality checks into CI/CD pipelines, and driving shift-left testing with the engineering team.
The QA Engineering Lead partners with developers, data engineers, and platform teams to diagnose issues at the code, API, and data layers; maintain test environments; and ensure quality gates are embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle. This role contributes to continuous improvement by advancing test automation coverage, optimizing performance and reliability validation, and maturing quality engineering methodologies across the platform.
This role is critical in ensuring platform components meet functional, performance, and security standards through engineering-driven quality practices rather than manual test coverage oversight.
Technical and Testing Responsibilities

Test execution: Ensure the successful execution of various tests, including manual and automated, functional, and regression testing.
Drive automation: Lead the design and implementation of test automation frameworks and solutions to improve efficiency and prevent regressions.
Identify and document defects: Find, report, and track bugs and issues, ensuring proper severity levels and clear steps to reproduce them.
Ensure product quality: Work to ensure the overall quality of the product, often with a focus on non-functional requirements like accessibility and performance testing.
Assess and improve tools: Stay updated on the latest QA tools and methodologies and implement them as needed.
Reporting & Tracking Responsibilities
Collaborate with other teams: Partner with engineering, product, and other teams to ensure successful project completion and build a quality-driven culture.
Improve processes: Continuously identify gaps and opportunities to improve QA processes, methodologies, and efficiency.
Communicate and report: Produce status reports, communicate test results, and provide insights on product quality to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Establish metrics: Define and drive the adoption of quality metrics to measure test effectiveness and overall product quality.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date testing documentation, including test cases, plans, and scripts.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related technical field is typically required.
5+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test automation.
Deep knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Experience with various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, load, API (Experience with REST API testing using Postman, or similar tools) and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Familiarity with bug tracking and project management tools (e.g., JIRA), version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
