Job Description Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA). As part of the AWS sales organization, an SSA works with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. The role involves crafting scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures and guiding customers through refactoring applications or designing new cloud-based systems. The ideal candidate enjoys tackling novel and unique technical challenges for customers and is ready to become an AWS Specialist Solutions Architect.

The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) drives revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers, including the public sector. WWSO works backward from customers’ most complex and business-critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that transform AWS ideas into multi‑billion‑dollar businesses. Teams within WWSO include business development, specialist, and technical solutions architecture. As a WWSO member, you provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. WWSO teams pride themselves on thinking big, delivering exceptional results, and working across AWS as OneTeam.

This position focuses on the Streaming Data domain. The specialist will serve as a subject‑matter expert (SME) for helping customers leverage AWS managed services such as Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK), Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Amazon Data Firehose, Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink, as well as self‑managed Apache Kafka and Apache Flink running on AWS. As a trusted customer advocate, a specialist solutions architect will help organizations understand advanced cloud‑based solutions and demonstrate how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud. The role offers opportunities to shape and execute a strategy that builds mind share and broad use of AWS across the spectrum of customers, from new start‑ups to large enterprise customers. The ability to link technology with measurable business value is critical to a solutions architect.
