is seeking a detail-oriented
Records Manager III
to support the organization’s electronic records and information management efforts. This role is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and implementing controls for electronic records, ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and confidentiality of information across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
Organize and maintain electronic records, implementing controls to ensure proper management, security, and compliance.
Develop and implement file classification schemes, file plans, and records schedules.
Search, locate, retrieve, and deliver records and information in accordance with established procedures and security protocols.
Document and preserve metadata to maintain the integrity and traceability of records.
Perform appraisal and analysis of information for retention and records scheduling purposes.
Ensure records retention schedules continue to meet the evolving business needs of the agency by adjusting retentions and identifying new records series.
Collaborate with Records Management Staff, and records creators to conduct records appraisals using internal guidelines and National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) standards.
Develop file plans to ensure all records created and used by each program are properly identified, scheduled, and maintained, including the creation of records inventories and file plans.
Qualifications
Must be a United States citizen.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant records management experience, including specialized experience in file plan development.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of electronic records systems, metadata standards, and federal records management policies.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining Records Retention Schedules.
Experience conducting records appraisals and creating comprehensive file plans and inventories.
Knowledge of best practices for storage, retrieval, protection, preservation, and destruction of records.
