A law firm located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is seeking a full-time attorney with one or more years of experience to join its practice. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and an interest in growing a practice within a small law firm environment. The position involves litigation and client support across multiple practice areas, including
insurance defense ,
probate litigation , and
business litigation .
Responsibilities
Handle insurance defense and other civil litigation matters.
Manage all aspects of the litigation process from case strategy through resolution.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and memoranda.
Communicate with clients regarding legal strategies and courses of action.
Gather and analyze evidence to prepare cases for litigation.
Draft and respond to written discovery.
Take and defend depositions.
Attend court hearings, mediations, and other proceedings.
Provide legal support for clients' non‑litigation needs.
Requirements
Admission to the State Bar of Michigan or ability to qualify for admission.
At least one year of experience practicing law.
Strong academic credentials.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience with civil litigation, including case strategy and discovery.
Willingness to litigate in multiple practice areas.
Ability to work full‑time in an office setting in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Preferred Qualifications
Insurance litigation experience.
Trial experience.
