Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Industrial Director to lead business development, project management, and execution for our Industrial Water solutions. The role will focus on delivering lifecycle water, wastewater, and stormwater projects to heavy commercial and industrial clients, balancing cost, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead marketing, strategy development, and prospect identification; prepare proposals, client presentations, and project budgeting.
Drive business performance and meet new‑business objectives.
Interact with clients to promote Black & Veatch through engagement activities.
Support market business planning and client‑engagement strategies.
Oversee engineering managers and project team performance.
Manage project budgeting, invoicing, and payments; lead performance reviews.
Mentor and coach team members; identify and develop future talent.
Serve as a project manager, leading project teams as required.
Preferred Qualifications
20+ years of industrial water/wastewater experience with leadership roles.
Professional Engineering license and a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
Strong understanding of budgets and financial metrics.
Contract negotiation skills covering terms, risks, pricing, and payment conditions.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records). Certifications:
None specified.
Work Environment / Physical Demands Typical office and construction environments with extreme weather, high noise levels, safety hazards, and exposure to chemicals. Duties include sitting, walking, talking, writing, keyboarding, driving, and lifting up to 40 pounds for extended periods.
