Position Summary The Hotel Financial & Asset Management Analyst supports the financial oversight, performance analysis, and strategic management of a portfolio of hotel assets. This position plays a key role in evaluating operating performance, conducting market and investment analyses, preparing ownership reports, and assisting with capital planning and asset optimization. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and financial modeling skills with a deep understanding of hotel operations and real estate fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities Financial Analysis & Reporting Prepare and maintain detailed financial models for owned and managed hotel assets, including forecast, budget, and actual performance tracking. Analyze property-level financial statements, STR data, and operating metrics (ADR, occupancy, RevPAR, GOP, NOI). Support monthly and quarterly ownership reporting packages, including variance explanations, market commentary, and KPI analysis. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, reforecasts, and long-term capital plans. Conduct benchmarking analysis versus brand and competitive set performance. Asset Management Support Monitor and report on asset performance, identifying opportunities to improve revenue, operating efficiency, and asset value. Partner with third-party management companies to track key initiatives and resolve performance challenges. Review capital expenditure projects for return on investment and assist in managing capital budgets. Participate in property-level strategy meetings and assist in the execution of business plans. Support lender, investor, and ownership reporting requirements. Investment & Market Analysis Attend regional and national investment conferences and participate in deal sourcing. Conduct market research to evaluate competitive positioning, brand selection, and market trends. Assist with underwriting of potential hotel acquisitions, dispositions, and redevelopment opportunities. Prepare investment committee materials and presentations summarizing findings, risks, and recommendations. Maintain and update hotel market and portfolio databases. Administrative & Departmental Support Organize and maintain asset management files and dashboards. Support ad hoc analysis and special projects requested by executive leadership. Coordinate data collection and reporting between internal departments (finance, accounting, development, operations).
Qualifications Bachelors degree in Finance, Real Estate, Hospitality Management, or a related field; MBA or masters degree a plus. Minimum 5+ years of experience in hotel asset management, real estate finance, or hospitality consulting. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling), PowerPoint, and Word. Familiarity with Trepp, STR reports, and brand reporting tools preferred. Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial audiences. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills. Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred Attributes Knowledge of hotel P&L statements, underwriting models, brand management structures, and franchise agreements. Exposure to capital planning, renovations, and asset repositioning projects. Experience with Argus, Tableau, or Power BI for data analysis and visualization.
