Position Description:

Lead development and implementation of the company’s Global Immigration & Mobility (GIM) strategy aligned with business

goals. Provide expert-level guidance, support, and communication of options and requirements to deliver exceptional employee

experience for seamless cross-border travel assignments. Create and standardize GIM policies, programs, and global practices in

strict compliance with global immigration, tax, and labor laws. Develop relationships with external partners and align related

resources with business needs including global and domestic relocation, international assignments, taxation support, visa

sponsorships, Green Card process, and vendor management.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

Develop comprehensive Global Immigration & Mobility (GIM) strategy aligned with business goals for growth and

informed by data-driven insights to provide best experiences for employees. Create strategy roadmap and proposals to

present to executive leadership.

Utilize thought-leadership and GIM expertise to develop, implement, and maintain global and domestic strategic direction

policies, practices, and programs.

Maintain current and relevant GIM knowledge to mitigate risks and ensure adherence and compliance with relevant country

laws and regulations. Provide informed advice to leadership and other stakeholders on how changes may affect company,

GIM applications and assignments.

Understand international business travel eligibility and requirements. Maintain knowledge of change in status and

communicate travel risk assessments and country medical guides to stakeholders. Promote and communicate services

available through International SOS (ISOS).

Oversee global immigration to ensure employee valid work authorization, including visa applications, work permits,

renewals, extensions, and permanent residency processes. Oversee adherence to timely and accurate processing of

immigration and mobility documentation for employees.

Engage with leaders, employees, and Human Resources (HR) teams to communicate and discuss immigration options,

requirements for different types of visas, potential risks for individuals and company, work permits for U.S. citizens on

assignment, expatriates, inpatriates, repatriation, and with specific attention to employees whose visa application was not

approved and/or renewals and extensions that have been reached their maximum duration of time.

Oversee preparation and filing of global immigration applications, support employees to understand timeline and completion

of documents are submitted correctly and accurately. Engage with various immigration providers on behalf of employees to

ensure timely responses to inquiries and submission of necessary paperwork.

Support individuals facing complex immigration issues, including offboarding of employees with expiring visa status. Develop benchmarks and key performance indicators (KPIs) for program standards. Continuously monitor GIM programs

and develop innovative solutions to improve practices and achieve immediate and long-term business goals.

Develop audit process of immigration and mobility records and processes to ensure compliance and data integrity. Lead design, maintenance, and continuous improvement and innovation of GIM policies, practices, and programs, including

expatriate compensation, housing, tax equalization, and allowances, in collaboration with Legal, HR and Finance

stakeholders, and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or other technology to evolve current systems, with consideration for

global needs, risks, dependencies, timing, and/or technology considerations.

Build a global, programmatic approach, leveraging technology and external partners, to develop exceptional employee

experiences and greater mobility throughout the company and affiliated companies. Manage external service providers (e.g.,

immigration firms, relocation vendors, tax advisors) for high-quality, responsiveness, and cost-appropriate services.

Develop and facilitate training to develop materials and tools to communicate and educate internal stakeholders on GIM

policy, standard operating procedures and guidelines, best practices, and program updates.

Facilitate acquisition of GIM support, processes, resources, vendors, and tools to best support employees and programs

across organizations.

Determine tax services needed for U.S. outbound to short- and long-term assignment International locations. Review

employee assignment letters and provide guidance on information to include within documentation.

Manage and engage with external tax provider to generate tax cost estimates/cost projections and discuss and resolve tax

issues.

Lead tax services, processes, and compliance of Tax and Payroll for International travel and/or assignments by external tax

provider vendor, including authorized tax services, tax orientations, complete tax equalizations, and timely management of

tax notices.

Oversee tax services, processes, and compliance of Tax and Payroll for U.S. International business travelers and/or

assignments by external tax provider vendor, including shadow payroll, review of withholding and remitting country taxes,

ITIN, T4 wage slips, and certificates of coverage.

Monitor U.S. to Canada and Europe business travelers ‘days in country’ to take necessary next steps to address tax

implications with employee and local HR and Finance.

Review tax and immigration provider invoices and facilitate payments as needed. Maintain current and relevant Tax and Payroll knowledge to mitigate risks and ensure adherence and compliance with

relevant laws and regulations and provide informed advice to leadership and other stakeholders on how changes may affect

employee assignments.

May manage direct reports and participate in hiring process, onboard new hires, deliver timely performance feedback to

staff and contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, utilizing talent management systems.

Participate in related industry conferences to stay current on GIM trends, best practices, and legislative developments to

enhance program offerings and practices affecting GIM and workplace adoption.

Resources, Organization Development, or related field of study, with minimum of 15 years of progressive immigration

Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (or advanced degree, Master’s or Juris Doctorate (JD)) from accredited degree program in Human

related experience in Human Resources (HR), global immigration, tax compliance, or related field, or equivalent

combination of education, training, and experience

Deep knowledge of global immigration, labor, and employment laws and in-depth experience with work visas, permits, and

residency requirements

Extensive knowledge of global mobility policies and practices Senior Professional in Human Resources (HRCI SPHR) or Society of Human Resources Management Senior Certified

Professional (SHRM SCP

) Certification, Or Other Related Certification, Preferred

Professional certifications related to HR, immigration, or taxation, such as Global Professional in Human Resources

(GPHR), Certified Global Mobility Specialist (GMS), or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), desired

Experience developing and leading complex strategic or operational initiatives, managing large-scale transformation

projects, and developing and executing a mobility or immigration service vision

Familiar with tax laws, compliance requirements, and global tax implications related to international assignments for in-patriates, ex-patriates, and international employees in U.S., Canada, Asia, and European counties Familiar with and able to manage expectations with tax consultants/vendors providing tax services Exceptional leadership and highly accountable management skills of concurrent complex projects, tasks, and

teams, including problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills; able to manage project/team budget

Understand cultural nuances that may impact immigration and tax-related matters Strong client servicing skills, ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders, and demonstrate cultural awareness

and sensitivity, especially with employees from diverse backgrounds

Executive level presentation skills to effectively represent business requirements and influence decision making Professional interpersonal skills and written communication skills with ability to communicate complex information in clear

and understandable manner across organizational levels

The salary range for this position in NYC is $194,020 - $281,605.
