Position and Salary The Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for a permanent full‑time IT Application Development – Entry in the Information Services Division. This position is located in Tumwater, Washington, and is not union‑represented.
IT Application Development – Entry Salary range 04IT: $78,252 – $105,228 annually. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate’s job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.

About the Information Services Division The Information Services Division (ISD) provides support and consulting for legal technologies. The division is responsible for the development and delivery of AGO computer and telephone network infrastructure and the operation of network hardware and software platforms to provide AGO staff access to their work products and communications.
This division has multiple units that provide eDiscovery litigation support, custom software development, business intelligence and data management services. Data security and disaster recovery are key to the maintenance and operations of the AGO's voice and data systems. The division also ensures compliance with state governance policies and standards and ensures that all electronic services function properly and securely.
Duties and Essential Functions of an IT App Development – Entry This position uses an agile development methodology, innovation, and creativity to complete assignments. The position provides analysis, development, QA implementation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for division specific and agency‑wide, high risk/high impact, mission‑critical custom developed applications, off‑the‑shelf software customizations, system integrations and databases.
The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrable technical problem‑solving skills, the interest and desire to understand complex business processes and the desire to learn and grow as a software developer.
This position provides software development and maintenance for new projects and solutions, enhancements to existing custom software solutions, off the shelf software customizations and software integrations.
Specific duties include:
Provide software application development for performance metric tracking applications and approval workflows.
Provide troubleshooting and bug fixes for custom developed solutions.
Develop dashboard / reporting platforms and associated Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.
Perform testing and quality assurance for custom developed solutions.

Qualifications Option 1: Six (6) years of professional experience such as database administration, data analytics, dashboard development, developing software, analyzing, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware that use and rely on databases.
Option 2: An associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, and at least four (4) years of experience such as database administration, data analytics, dashboard development, developing software, analyzing, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications that use and rely on databases.
Option 3: A bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; and at least two (2) years of experience such as database administration, data analytics, dashboard development, developing software, analyzing, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications that use rely on databases.
AND
One year of demonstrated experience developing applications or other software solutions using at least two of the following programming skills, languages, software and programs:
ASP.NET or MVC, C#
JavaScript, HTML, CSS
Microsoft.NET Framework Libraries (4.0 or above)
