This role is critical to the smooth operation of our distribution center, ensuring accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for handling all aspects of shipping and receiving, from unloading trucks to preparing orders for dispatch. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and invoices.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Accurately document all incoming and outgoing inventory.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling orders.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external carriers.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety and workplace conduct.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse role preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and understanding of proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations is beneficial.
