Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse role is required. Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) is a must. Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is essential. Must be able to perform tasks requiring physical exertion, including frequent lifting of items up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing. A comprehensive understanding of logistics operations, inventory control, and safety protocols, including mandatory PPE usage, is critical. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team. High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders or invoices.
- Process and document all incoming inventory accurately using the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Prepare, pack, and label outgoing shipments according to carrier requirements and company standards.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through diligent receiving and shipping processes.
- Organize and maintain the shipping and receiving dock areas, ensuring they are clean and hazard-free.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
- Perform other logistics-related duties as assigned, which may involve lifting up to 50 pounds.
