Responsibilities:
- Preparing shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs forms.
- Coordinating with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verifying shipment contents against orders and packing slips.
- Ensuring packages are properly labeled and secured for transit.
- Operating shipping software and systems to track shipments.
- Communicating with customers regarding shipping status and inquiries.
- Maintaining accurate shipping records and logs.
- Identifying and resolving shipping discrepancies or delays.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and ensuring proper use of PPE.
- Assisting with warehouse duties as needed, including some lifting.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common office applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with manual lifting of packages up to 30 lbs.
- Familiarity with various shipping carriers and their requirements.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards, including proper PPE usage.
- High school diploma or GED required.
