Our organization is looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Washington, D.C. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory records, ensuring that our warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will conduct regular cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to minimize stock variances. This position requires a sharp mind for detail, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of inventory management systems and logistics principles. You will work with warehouse associates and management to identify areas for improvement in inventory control processes. Responsibilities include managing stock rotation, ensuring product traceability, and conducting physical inventory audits. The ideal candidate will have experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and be proficient in data entry and analysis. A strong commitment to safety is essential, and you will be expected to follow all safety protocols, including the use of PPE. This role may involve some light lifting and movement of inventory, so a degree of physical capability is beneficial. Your accuracy and diligence are key to preventing stockouts, reducing waste, and ensuring timely fulfillment of orders.   • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and identify obsolete or slow-moving stock.
  • Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operational teams to ensure data accuracy.
  • Manage and reconcile inventory adjustments.
  • Support the implementation of new inventory management technologies.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and ensure proper use of PPE during inventory operations.
