Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of goods in and out of our facility. You will be responsible for managing incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and preparing outgoing shipments for delivery. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to safety are paramount. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within a fast-paced environment. Your primary duties will include operating forklifts (certification provided if needed), maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring the organized storage of materials. You'll also coordinate with transportation providers to schedule pickups and deliveries. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems and possess excellent communication skills. We prioritize a safe working environment, and all associates are required to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds will be necessary. This role is integral to our overall Logistics success and contributes directly to customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments.
- Verify quantities and quality of goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Stock received items in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and competently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using our WMS.
- Coordinate with carriers for shipment pickups and deliveries.
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
